Brazos Valley Technology
Student Association
February
28, 2007
The Brazos
Valley Technology Student Association will be holding its annual competition on
Friday, April 13, 2007. We invite you
to take part in the development of our youth by serving as a judge for this
event. BVTSA is a regional association
serving the Aldine, Bryan, Cold Springs, Conroe, Cypress Fairbanks, Katy, Klein
and Spring Branch Independent School Districts. Students who place at this competition go on to compete at the
state level at the Texas TSA Leadership Conference in May.
The BVTSA
contest will be held at the Richard Berry Educational Support Center located at
8877 Barker Cypress in Cypress, Texas.
Directions and parking information may be found on the Berry Center web
site at www.berrycenter.net.
Judges will
be asked to work in groups to judge areas such as drafting, metalworking or
woodworking at either the high school or junior high level. Regional competition follows the guidelines
of the state rules book, which may be viewed at www.texastsa.org. There is a judges’ orientation meeting at 5:00 p.m. on April 13th,
after which judging begins.
We will ask
that each business provide a placard with your corporate name and logo, to be
mounted on an easel throughout the judging period. After completing the judging
for state qualifiers, each company’s representative will select an outstanding
project for a “Best in Show” honor, to be displayed in front of their
poster. These will remain on view
during the public open house on Saturday.

Please
email richard.gilbert@cfisd.net or tommie.montgomery@cfisd.net if
you are able to assist us at this event.
Your service to our community will be greatly appreciated. Without the support of local business we
would be unable to qualify students and projects to compete at the state
competition held in May in Waco, Texas.
